Resonance is a leading advisor and consultancy in placemaking, destination, and city branding and development. One of Resonance’s known services is for their data-driven, statistic-forward rankings of Europe's, America's, and the World's Best Cities.
America's Best Cities was one of the first projects I had the pleasure of working on during my time at Resonance, allowing me an early look into the research, strategy, and design that came together to create a report like this.
America's Best Cities ranks the United State’s top 100 cities alongside the top 100 small cities through three strategic pillars — Livability, Lovability, and Prosperity. blending hard statistical data with real perception data from residents, visitors, and prospective movers.
My role was to shape the report's look and feel around Resonance's brand identity, translating dense copy, data, and statistics into a digital and physical report that felt considered and had a narrative flow.
Today, Resonance's America's Best Cities report reaches more than 27,000 readers around the globe. From city leaders and economic developers to everyday residents curious how their hometown stacks up. Featured on Fast Company, CNN, Bloomburg, TimeOut, AFAR, and Apple.
The report the team and I shaped into fruition can play a small part in how people see, and choose, American cities. Being able to physically hold the project in the end was extremely rewarding.
